Tarrant County Vietnam Memorial

Memory Honor Roll

Background

At least 221 Tarrant County, Texas residents died as a result of the Vietnam Conflict while serving in Southeast Asia. Since the war ended, thousands of Vietnam veterans have suffered due to Agent Orange exposure, PTSD, and other illnesses as a result of their service in that Theater of Operation.

The Tarrant County Vietnam Memorial Foundation (TCVMF) believes all those from Tarrant County who served in Vietnam should be honored and remembered for their service.  The Foundation wants to enable the families and friends of those who came home and later died of service-related illnesses or disabilities the opportunity to have them be forever memorialized.

With that premise, the TCVMF anticipates requests from individuals who desire to have particular names placed on the memorial.

Therefore, the TCVMF will follow current Dept. of Defense (DoD) guidelines, and service members may be eligible for inscription on the Tarrant County Vietnam Memorial if they:

  • Died (regardless the cause) within the defined combat zone of Vietnam (varies based on dates determined by the DoD)

  • Died while on a combat or combat support mission to/from the defined combat zone of Vietnam

  • Died as a result of complications related to service in Southeast Asia

As part of the Memory Honor Roll, an online personal remembrance page will be created for each honoree with a photo, service record summary, and biographical information. Family members will be able to share the page as well.
